The Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park (http://www.lasvegaszoo.org/) is the real deal. They have Barbary Apes, endangered cats, chimpanzees, eagles, ostriches, emus, talking parrots, wallabies, flamingos, large exotic reptiles and every species of venomous reptile native to Southern Nevada. All of this on only 3 acres, just 15 minutes northwest of the Las Vegas Strip.
Nico Vargas was hired on when the zoo opened in 1980 as their Night Custodian -- the zookeeper and veterinarian on the graveyard shift. He's worked at many small zoos around the nation, often changing homes when the small zoos lost funding or expanded beyond his tastes.
As a Gangrel, he is a loner and wanderer by nature, and has a superb affinity with animals. His desire to help the "little guys" beat out the huge institutions has helped make sure the Vegas Zoo survives.
He is the Gangrel Primogen in Vegas, a position he holds because there are so few Gangrel willing to step foot in town. When any do pass through, he knows about it. They all seem to find him; which isn't difficult, as he lives on the grounds of the Zoo.
He doesn't care for the politics in town; he leaves that joy to Rex. But he does appreciate having a say, for his clan, and for all of creatures of the night who have no voice.
IMAGE: Dark brown hair, amber-brown eyes, tan skin. Large build, very strong, but not overwhelming. Hispanic heritage, fluent in Spanish and English, and often uses mexican slang in his everyday speech.
